JOB TITLE: Accounts Payable Specialist

Position Description

The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for monitoring the outflow of capital for the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prioritize invoices according to payment terms
  • Completes payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices
  • Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices and recording entries
  • Obtains invoice approvals from managers/supervisors
  • Resolving purchase order and invoice discrepancies
  • Pays vendors by scheduling and preparing check runs weekly
  • Process checks upon request
  • Responsible for keeping record of all invoices by e-filing documents
  • Maintenance and preparation of 1099 forms
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Assist in month end closing
  • Assist with audits, special projects
  • Assist with other duties as needed

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years minimum of Accounts Payable experience
  • Must have strong work ethics
  • Proficient in Excel and Word, 10-key by touch
  • Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail with excellent follow through
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet competing deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proven working experience as accounts payable clerk
