SOLEDAD, Calif. – May 13, 2024 –  Braga Fresh, the home of Josie’s Organics, enters the spring Salinas valley season with three awards that recognize the company’s organic farming, safety and leadership efforts.

Company CEO Rod Braga received the 2023 Organic Grower of the Year award from the Organic Produce Network and Western Growers.  Braga credited the award to all of Braga team members and the Braga family of companies.

In February, Alfonoso Orozco, director of safety, was named the national 2024 Outstanding Safety Professional of the year by AgSafe Food and Farms; an annual award that identifies the best of the best in worker safety professionals across food and farming industries.

And earlier this month, Colby Pereira, chief operating officer, received the Grower-Shipper Foundation Ag Woman of the Year award for demonstrating a significant contribution to agriculture, being a leader in the community and an “Ag-Vocate” for agriculture.

“Receiving three awards is an honor,” said Tatiana Briggs, brand marketing lead. “We appreciate being recognized for the passion we share for organic farming and California agriculture.  We will continue the leadership trajectory in how we approach our everyday work.”
