The company is named for President and CEO Rod Braga’s grandmother Josie, who inspired her family by being a great asset to the family’s ranch and preparing delicious, nutritious meals for anyone who sat at her kitchen table. “As a young boy I remember watching my Nonnie Josie hand-clip leaves of baby lettuce. She served the best available produce to her family then, and today, we aim to serve the best-tasting, highest-quality products to consumers around the world. She is our inspiration on our fields and in our home kitchens,” said Braga. Karen Nardozza, who heads marketing elaborated, “At Josie’s Organics, we believe people like Josie Braga exist in every family. The #MyJosie contest was a great way for consumers to learn more about our Josie, while paying homage to the culture and heritage in their own kitchen–the Josie in their life.” Lori Taylor, The Produce Mom, assisted Josie’s Organics with the creation and promotion of the#MyJosiecontest. Taylor, an active supporter and partner of Josie’s Organics, praised the contest, “Pinterest is typically used amongst the food industry for sharing recipes. It was wonderful to use this platform as a way to promote the story-telling associated with food and family.”
